17-4PH

17-4PH is a highly alloyed stainless steel used in applications that are exposed to high temperatures such as heat exchangers and furnace parts.  This property is due to the large amounts of chromium in its content.  Other features include easy workability for optimal fitting and welding.  Like the 13-8 sheet we offer, this grade is economical, resistant to corrosion and resistant to oxidation at increased temperatures and in mildly corrosive environments.  You can order 17-4PH or other specialty metals from Advanced Global, including 4130 plate and 4340 flat barContact us to find out more.

17-4PH Flat Bar

Whether flat bar, plate, or any other shape, 17-4PH stainless steel is a highly alloyed austenitic stainless steel used for high-temperature applications.  The high chromium content gives 17-4PH excellent strength at high temperatures.  17-4PH is also ductile, and has good weldability.  It is mainly used in applications such as furnace parts and heat exchangers.  Other properties of this stainless steel include good corrosion resistance in mildly corrosive environments and good resistance to oxidation at elevated temperatures.  17-4PH also has excellent corrosion resistance at high temperatures.

17-4PH Plate

17-4PH stainless steel finds wide application in all high-temperature environments where scaling and corrosion resistance are required.  17-4PH has limited weldability and should not be used in the welded condition for dynamic or impact loaded structures.  Being a ferrite material, 17-4PH is liable to fracture at sub-zero temperatures, and cannot be used in cryogenic applications.
