It has excellent corrosion resistance, comparable to that of Stainless Type 304; and moderate strength, comparable to that of Stainless Type 410. Custom 450 AMS 5773 5763 is generally supplied in the annealed condition, which allows it to yield strength greater than 100 ksi (689 MPa). Though it generally requires no heat treatment for many applications, certain available treatments provide it with even greater strength and ductility. Custom 450 AMS 5773 5763 is easy to weld and braze. It can be machined, hot-worked, and cold-formed in the same manner as other martensitic age-hardenable stainless steels.
