HP9-4-30, HP 9-4-30; AMS 6526 is a high strength, low alloy steel. It possesses high cobalt and nickel content which results in its increased toughness. This alloy was specifically tailored to have superb fracture toughness, good weldability and high hardenability. HP9-4-30, HP 9-4-30, AMS 6526 is manufactured by a consumable electrode vacuum arc remelting process. This alloy is used for armor plate, rocket motor cases, aircraft structural components, gears and pressure vessels.
