Inconel 718 Rod bar and Inconel 718 Tube pipe are nickel chromium alloys. These are generally used in intense environments where vast heat and corrosion resistance is principal to the integrity of the end result.

Traditional machining techniques can be used for both Inconel 718 Rod bar and Inconel 718 Tube pipe. The alloy hardens during machining and has superior power and thickness not typical of steels. Heavy-duty machining equipment and tooling should be used to minimize hardening of the alloy ahead of the cutting.
Inconel 718 Rod bar and Inconel 718 Tube pipe may be subjected to hot working with temperature range of 2050 F to 1650 F, and may also be subjected to cold forming utilizing a regular tooling; plain carbon device steels are optional for forming as they tend to produce galling.
